Additional information

Following a commercially-funded (Cristal Global) PhD project, and collaboration with the Fraunhofer IST, this publication represents the major outcome of a PhD programme funded through a TSB sponsored project (grant ref. 620015, in collaboration with Miba Coatings Ltd.) with partners in Finland. It demonstrates a significant improvement in photocatalytic activity – most interestingly with standard fluorescent lighting. This work was presented at RSD 2011 and PSE 2012 and strongly contributed to the establishment of the Photocatalytic and Superhydrophilic Surfaces Workshop (PSS 2011 and PSS2013), and the subsequent membership of co-author Prof Kelly on the British Standards Committee for photocatalytic testing.
