Additional information

<11> The originality in this work stems from the use of a formal model to guide service composition in large-scale (Cloud Computing) domains. The paper seeks to address the acknowledged failure of current middleware functionality in applications to dynamic distributed computing and communication systems. The proposed techniques are prototyped to illustrate how to effectively endow service composition systems with the necessary cognitive powers for efficient monitoring. This work is currently being adopted, for assured secure service composition, in providing agile systems with their own self-governance, ensuring bounded autonomy to guard against unforeseeable consequences, threats and malevolent abuses of power.
