Additional information

This output of the AHRC-funded Performing Presence: from the Live to the Simulated project (2004-9), for which Giannachi was a Co-Investigator, was co-authored with Nick Kaye. All chapters were developed collaboratively. Giannachi contributed to the authorship in areas specific to her research expertise: performance and new media theory, theory, documentation of new media work, archivisation (including archivisation through social media and virtual reality), telepresence, mixed and virtual reality. Research, in collaboration with Kaye, included conducting experiments over a four-year period in an immersive virtual reality environment called CAVE with UCL's Computer Science Virtual Environments Group. The book was nominated for Theatre Library Association 44th Annual Book Awards (2012).
