Double-weighted statement

This monograph (250,000 words/622 pages) is the result of intensive work lasting three years (2006-2009). It combines a new critical edition of a very difficult text with an interpretative introduction and commentary that take account of all ancient and modern scholarship on the play in order to analyse the literary and dramatical significance of every line and scene of the drama, and of the play as a whole. The scale of the material covered, and the complexity of the scope chosen, go well beyond the research effort required for a single output.
