Additional information

<24> This work investigates method for autonomous communication in groups of flying Unmanned Micro Air Vehicles (MAV). The simulation experiments presented in this paper resulted in joint research with Floreano’s lab at EPFL Lausanne for the successful testing of the simulation results with real MAVs (work presented at IROS 2011, and featured in the Wired.com magazine). The work was funded by the European Office of Aerospace Research and Development (US Air Force Lab). This paper also led to collaboration with SciSys Ltd, significantly contributing to the award of major contracts with the UK MoD (see impact case 1).
