The Oxford Handbook of the History of Analytic Philosophy

This Handbook was conceived in 2007 and its designing, editing and production took up a major part of Beaney’s research time until it was published in June 2013 (39 chapters; xx + 1161 pages; c. 600,000 words). As described in the preface, the editor was responsible for inviting all contributors, read and commented on several drafts of each paper, and worked closely with authors in shaping their discussions. Extensive research was undertaken not only for the two chapters written by the editor (60 pages; over 30,000 words), but also in compiling the detailed chronology (80 pages) and bibliography (84 pages).
