Double-weighted statement

This monograph (100,000 words) involves the collection and analysis of a considerable body of primary sources from a wide range of archive repositories (over 20 repositories across the North West and London). The primary sources included many rare and previously unstudied items such as dialect pamphlets from Manchester Central Library and commonplace books from Chetham’s Library, as well as the whole of the Home Office disturbances correspondence 1798-1815 at the National Archives. The book presented an extensive thesis concerning the inter-relationship between the popular politics of loyalism and radicalism, 1798-1815, which is a concept and time-period under-studied by previous historians.
