Modeling and generating moving trees from video
<26>This paper is first to offer a statistical dynamic tree model that presents the entertainment industry with fully automatic means of generating 3D forests that look and move alike, using just a single 2D video. The work resulted in articles from New Scientist, 'Virtual trees sway in wind just like the real thing'
(http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg21328495.600-virtual-trees-sway-in-wind-just-like-the-real-thing.html), Techland Magazine (The Times), 'Four Seasons in One Minute', and Mumbai Mirror, 'Scientists program computer to mimic nature by watching video'. The work led to invited seminars at UC Berkeley (05/2011), Chinese Academy of Sciences (03/2012), Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications (05/2012).
