Double-weighted statement

The book is 134,000 words authored 100% by Street. It involved extensive research in a large number of UK and American archives; researching and conducting interviews, and analysing many films (the majority only available in archives) from a new perspective - colour. Chapters 4 and 6 develop research published in three articles during the REF 2014 period (Screen, 50:2, 2009, pp. 191-215; Journal of British Cinema and Television, 7:1, 2010: 34-52; The Moving Image, 11:1, 2011: 1-24), but which have not been submitted for the REF. The quantity of work involved exceeds that required to produce two normal outputs.
