Additional information

This is the first systematic study on the mechanical behaviour of next-generation nanoporous materials known as Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs). The research demonstrates the elegant application of single-crystal nanoindentation, in which new methodologies have been established for interrogating the complex mechanical response of inorganic-organic framework materials. The work has led to an invitation in 2010 to lecture in the Micromechanics Seminar series in the University of Cambridge, and to an oral presentation at the 2011 MRS Spring Meeting in San Francisco USA.
