This research was initiated through international collaboration between University of Bolton (UK) and Kahramanmaras Sutcu Imam University (Turkey) and has led to further academic and industrial collaboration. The materials developed achieve the required compressive strength that fulfils the requirements of the relevant Turkish standard (TS 24). These composite cements developed based on partial replacement of Portland cement by waste materials offer cost reduction, energy saving, and arguably superior products. The research has significant environmental and economic implications and was carried jointly by Binici and Shah.
