Additional information

This paper addresses both the fundamental and applied research pertaining to the use of a natural biopolymer for infection control. A robust process has been developed to manipulate the chitosan nanoparticles structure where the nanoparticles with predetermined size, shape and surface charge can easily be tailor made by using ionotropic gelation method. Joint international collaborative research & publication. The research programme was funded by Bolton, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India and Commonwealth Scholarship Commission of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. All authors equally contributed extensively to the work presented in this paper.
