Over many years I have worked with colleagues to compute the effect of energy exchange between electrons and nuclei due to microscopic fluctuations (Correlated Electron-Ion Dynamics), between us receiving £1.16M from EPSRC (EP/C524381/1, EP/C006739/1 and EP/C524403/1) for its development. This paper marks a high point for the theory, explaining how to extend it to more interesting problems, illustrated by new results. This theory has received substantial interest from the academic community world wide, with regular invitations to meetings to present it (e.g. CECAM workshop, 11/2012, Lausanne; MatGenIV-4 School, 06/2012, Santa Fe; International-Centre-for-Theoretical-Physics Workshop,11/2011, Trieste).
