Dr Mio Nonaka is JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow for Research Abroad, funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. The JSPS is Japan’s leading funding agency and is largely funded through annual subsidies from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology MEXT - http://www.jsps.org/about/jsps.html) Address: Kojimachi Business Center Building, 5-3-1 Kojimachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 102-0083 Japan.) This fellowship is intended to to support Japanese postdoctoral researchers to travel abroad to undertake their research.

Dr Nonaka's Fellowship is for the purpose of undertaking full-time research in the laboratory of Professor
Richard G.M. Morris, Director of the University of Edinburgh's Centre for Cognitive & Neural Systems (CCNS). The research project is titled ”Deciphering molecular mechanisms underlying memory encoding and consolidation in the rodent brain”. Dr Nonaka applied for this fellowship on agreement with Professor Morris to accept her as a postdoctoral researcher in his lab. for two years (1st July 2012 - 30th June 2014). When she was awarded this fellowship the JSPS and Professor Morris exchanged documents, proof of funding support and a letter of acceptance.
