<10>This online animation tool is the first step in developing an analytical tool to reason about interactions between services in long-running transactions, in the absence of a central coordinator. The approach provides an alternative to standard WS-* technology, integrating with the work of Rulemotion (Surrey University spinout) on a lighter SBVR/RESTful stack for web services. It extends their software capability in building transactional web applications, but also allows them to move from offering one organisation’s applications as a web service to supporting online collaborative applications that cut across organisations, an area where WS-* technology has failed to convince practitioners.
