Additional information

This article demonstrates this new class of jets and novel processing science possessing the capacity to directly handle structural, functional and biological materials. The technology as described in the article elucidates the ability to generate a wide range of structures containing a variety of materials for applications in the physical and life sciences, from microbubbles to microfoams to the development of novel cell therapies with medical and/or experimental genes and/or cells. EWOS Innovations AG has adopted this technology for creating functional feed for salmon farming. This finding was awarded the 2009 Marian Smoluchowski prize by the Gesellschaft für Aerosolforschung (GAeF).
