Additional information

This paper reports a novel concept for multi-parametric imaging of nanoparticle uptake in cells within bulk tissue volumes. The application of nanoparticles to medicine is extensive; from highlighting cell signalling, increasing diagnostic contrast, boosting therapeutic effect to delivering drugs more efficiently. Nano-cellular research requires detailed mapping of various emission signals from the nanoparticle distribution within tissue. This paper presents the first method capable of (1) mapping a 3D distribution in a bulk volume, thereby extendable to in-vivo work, and (2) simultaneous imaging of multiple emissions. I proposed the original concept and formed the multi-disciplinary collaboration.
