Additional information

The novel dual-motor drivetrain is of significant interest to several vehicle manufacturers, as the optimised management of the two motors allows significant energy efficiency benefits in comparison with single-motor solutions. The industrial impact of the research is potentially very high and following the paper, a CENEX grant was awarded to develop implementation on a prototype vehicle (for information contact Robert.Anderson@cenex.co.uk). Mike Everitt (Mike.Everitt@vocisdrivelinecontrols.com), developing this system, will confirm the industrial impact. A confirmation of the world-leading level of this research can be provided by Dr. Chin-Yuan Perng (cperng@ford.com), senior drivetrain engineer and group leader in Ford USA.
