Additional information

This article describes a novel and highly compact design for a fluid measurement instrument based on a well-established principle, which for the first time will enable massively-multichannel, high-bandwidth turbulence measurements, as well as the elimination of noise-prone sensor leads in wind-tunnel model installations. It is now possible for experimenters to collect simultaneous well-resolved spatial and temporal statistics without the prohibitive cost, space requirements or noise contamination typically associated with these techniques. A number of successful industrial contracts and bids have resulted from the sensor development work undertaken.
