Additional information

The Erotics of Consolation was devised and edited with Steven Milner, on the basis of discussions concerning the importance of Boethius and on consolatoria in the vernacular literature of the later Middle Ages. I invited half the contributors, shared 50% of the editorial process, and co-wrote the Introduction, as well as including a single-authored chapter. Devising the volume and writing the introduction involved extensive additional research (going beyond the scope of my chapter) into the reception in France, and the translations into French, of 'The Consolation of Philosophy', in terms of medieval schools and of pre-Humanism.
