By-elections in British Politics 1832-1914

T.G. Otte and Readman contributed equally in the conceptualization of this output, and in the editorial work it involved. Before the manuscript was sent to the press, the essays were presented in draft form at a contributors’ symposium held at King’s College London. Revised versions were then commented on by Readman and Otte, and further revisions were made by the authors in the light of our comments. Readman co-wrote and co-researched the Introduction with Otte, on a 50/50 basis. He co-wrote and co-researched another chapter with a former PhD student of his, Luke Blaxill, also on a 50/50 basis.
