Additional information

Shows how the frequency-diverse MIMO radar scheme can be used to obtain high-resolution radar images of a target scene, how the antenna beam may be scanned without the need for phase shifters, and how the bistatic configuration can be exploited. An experimental MIMO radar system built by the first author was used to monitor the wreck of the Costa Concordia whilst it was being searched for survivors, since the radar gives very sensitive indication of movement to mm-precision, http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/jrc/index.cfm?id=2820&dt_code=HLN&obj_id=716
