Additional information

DAPPLE (www.dapple.org.uk) was a six university consortium project led by AGR at Surrey and ran from 2002 to 2009. The work, of acknowledged international significance, added greatly to the relatively small collection of similar work that is heavily biased to American cities and of very limited benefit in the UK. EPSRC funding covered the first 3 years (with the initial emphasis of traffic pollution) and that led directly to continuing funding from the Home Office, with the emphasis shifting to emergency response. DAPPLE was a key enabling element in establishing follow-on activities in London. (Contacts: Jocelyn.Harvey@homeoffice.x.gsi.gov.uk; Nicola.Cheetham@tfl.gov.uk).
