Pan-Africanism and Communism: The Communist International, Africa and the African Diaspora, 1919-1939
The work is 416 pages long and the culmination of 10 years research involving the collection and analysis of a considerable body of material and the use of primary sources from collections distributed in archives in Britain, France, Russia, the United States and Nigeria. The work twice received funding from the British Academy, including a British Academy/Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowship, as well as a MARBL Research Fellowship to enable consultation of archives at Emory University in the US. The work draws on documents written in Russian, French, Spanish and German, as well as English.
