Additional information

This article details a new numerical algorithm for time domain modelling and simulation of high frequency, nonlinear magnetic devices and nano structures that is not possible with existing numerical tools. The work was developed as part of EPSRC grant (GR/S46161/01) to study the sub-nanosecond switching dynamics in magnetic recording heads, and lead to interest and some support from Seagate Northern Ireland to the project (Contact: Dr Desmond Choo, formally Seagate: Desmond.Choo@thales-esecurity.com). The technique also stimulated interest and applicability in non-linear optics (Dr Ivan Maksymovm, Nonlinear Physics Centre Research School of Physics and Engineering, The Australian National University, ivan.maksymov@uwa.edu.au).
