This work outlines the technical development and validation testing of the prototype building BaleHaus, which uses prefabricated straw bale panels developed at the University of Bath in collaboration with industry partners IED, White Design and ModCell Ltd. This work is an output from TSB Project "BaleHaus: a modern innovative low carbon housing system using prefabricated straw bale panels". The work has subsequently led to EU (EACI) funded research project (value 1.6 M euros; 2011-2014).
