Double-weighted statement

The book is a study in the history of ideas, engaging with an extensive and complex range of texts from 1749 until the early 1800s. Many of these texts have received little or no attention in Kant studies to date; some have never been translated into English. The book presents a systematic treatment of strands of Kant’s thought that have not been adequately integrated before: his theology, his conception of freedom, and his theory of knowledge. It required engagement with an unusually extensive range of literature across a broad timeframe.
