Additional information

<21> This paper, a collaboration with pyschologists from Bath University, threw up an interesting result in that user spatial awareness was enhanced when interacting with smaller rather than larger devices. It also showed that using one's mental imagination to rotate objects was more effective than using computer based interaction techniques, such as touch and tilt on a mobile device. It has led to much new research work in the area.
