Flexible provisioning of web service workflows
<22>This work extends the author's preliminary work published in ECAI 2006 (not RAE returned). The functions for estimating and approximating service behavior have been significantly improved compared to ECAI 2006, and the method is generalised and derived formally. The extended evaluation confirms the preliminary behavior (reported in ECAI 2006), but with far greater accuracy. The behaviour is comprehensively analysed, including an additional analysis with complex workflows. Our characterisation of utility has been applied to Reputation Propagation (Wen et al, SOCA 2012), and complements the work of Hahn on transactionally correct workflow execution (PhD Thesis, FU Berlin; ICDIM 2010, MobiDE 2010).
