Semi-automated mobile TV service generation
The journal article presents work conducted on demystifying the creation of interactive mobile television services, by making their production accessible to designers and non-technical oriented users.
The work presented in the paper led to the production of a new semi-automatic service creation tool, which was evaluated through user-testing and comparison testing against two other similar tools, one commercial and another outcome of a research project. 12 professional service designers were involved in user testing.
The results indicated that the proposed solution was easier to learn compared to the other two, reducing production times of interactive mobile service creation.
The originality lies in both the open-standards and open-source approach employed for the making of the semi-automated solution and the underlying design that makes all technical demands of the service creation process transparent to users.
