Dryden Goodwin: Cast
Although this book carries the date 2008, for technical reasons it first became publically available in 2009 and as a consequence did not form part of RAE 2008.
The research imperative for this book was to consider Goodwin’s work for the way it explores a creative interface between photography, film and drawing. As part of the research process, over a two-year collaboration with the artist, Chandler commissioned all the new essays for the book, including writing one himself, based on interviews with the artist.
The book was produced as part of a collaborative project between Photoworks, Brighton and The Photographers’ Gallery, London, which revolved around Chandler’s commission for the artist. It was co-published by Steidl (Germany), Photoworks and The Photographers’ Gallery, following an exhibition at The Photographers’ Gallery, which was later shown at the Hasselblad Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden.
