Double-weighted statement

This text consists of a translation of a very substantial (28,000 lines) Middle High German text with extensive footnotes and a substantial research based introduction. It is the first and only English translation of this text, the main source for the early history of the crusades in Prussia, and is likely to have considerable impact in universities and beyond. The translation requires a command of the source language and a detailed knowledge of the local and international contemporary context. It represents a considerable feat of scholarship and the distillation of a long period of research and interaction with this text.
