Additional information

<12> Several one-person games can be better understood and more easily solved by formulating them as problems in polynomial arithmetic. This paper presents several examples, some old and some new. In particular, it introduces a new class of solitaire-like games. This class of games was used as the basis for a challenging online competition celebrating the 100th anniversary of Turing’s birth. According to Google Analytics, the website had more than 14000 unique visits from 159 different countries. The total number of visits exceeds 18000. This paper appeared in an SCP special issue containing a selection of the best papers of MPC2010.
