Field monitoring of an unsaturated saprolitic hillslope
This paper provides the first comprehensive set of field monitoring data on the performance of an unsaturated saprolitic slope, including responses of two stress-state variables, - suction and net stress - , hydrogeological responses and deformation characteristics, with the slope subjected to a 300-year return period of rainstorm. The findings from the paper were presented in two invited Keynote Lectures (at the 5th Asia-Pacific Conference on Unsaturated Soils (2011) and the 2011 Indonesia National Geotechnical Conference) and also included within an invited General Report (co-authored) at the 5th International Conference on Unsaturated Soils in 2010.
