<22>We build upon research presented at AAMAS (Modgil et al., 2009, A framework for monitoring agent-based normative systems). A model for norms, its application, and, uniquely, mechanisms for effectively monitoring the enactment of complex systems specified using this model is presented. These monitoring mechanisms are capable of both determining when norms are violated, and predicting when they might be. This work was developed with Lost Wax, an SME partner as part of their Aerogility software package, and is used by aerospace companies as part of their decision support processes (see industry track paper at AAMAS 2009 http://tinyurl.com/mqbbcuk).
