Additional information

<22>Artificial Intelligence is one of the most prestigious journals in the field. This paper describes the BT45 system: a system that integrates AI-based analytics and natural language generation to automatically generate English summaries of complex medical data. We show, using controlled experiments in vitro, that clinical decisions can be improved through the generation of such summaries. This research laid the foundations for the BT-Nurse system deployed in situ, which is reported in Reiter2. This strand of research led to the spinout company Data2Text (data2text.com), which is working closely with Arria (aria.com); Sripada is Chief Development Scientist of both companies.
