Dynamic service integration for reliable and sustainable capability provision
<16>The next-generation of software-intensive military systems will require high levels of flexibility. This award-winning work (RNEC'2008) presents a novel solution to dynamic service integration for such systems, with analytic verification and scenario-based validation. This represents the primary output from our system engineering project with BAE Systems (EPSRC/BAES NECTISE, £1.2M), which led to direct cost savings for BAES (industrial lead: Dr John Davies). It is regarded as vital, exemplar work by the INCOSE and US Cyber-warfare communities, leading to Leeds' leading role in the UK/USA research summit on Network-Enabled Capability (2008) and a new £1.6M advanced system engineering project (EPSRC/JLR PSi).
