Additional information

For the first time, proven techniques from automotive sound design and evaluation, and new product development, have been used in the proposal of new and practical approaches for planners and engineers to improve urban soundscapes, and to overcome existing practical and theoretical barriers. The approach has also since been used to improve soundscapes within buildings, namely hospital soundscapes, with work already published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.jenvp.2013.06.004 and The British Journal of Nursing: Mackrill, J., Jennings, P., Cain, R., England, M. (2013) 'Sound source information to improve cardiothoracic patients’ comfort 'British Journal Of Nursing 22 (7) .
