Additional information

This research is directed to benefit an international glass industry research consortium (IPGR) to offset the high cost of transportation and the risk of breakage during on-line handling, by improving the lightweighting or strength to weight ratio of container glasses. A thematic addition to previous paper [J non-crystalline solids 351(30)2524-2536] demonstrating specific research achievement (awaiting patent) in the development and application of several methods of strengthening container glasses by an extraordinary 103 % of half the normal weight thus saving materials, improving recyclability and profitability of commercially available container and related glass compositions by Emhart Glass (Hammfelddmm 4B, DE41460, Germany).
