Additional information

The original work was funded by the BROAD medical foundation of the USA. It led to a second grant from this funder and now being commercialised through a TSB grant (Grant No. 131272) with Owlstone Ltd (contact Dr B. Boyle – billy.boyle@owlstone.co.uk). It is also part of a NIHR (National Institute Health Research) programme grant “FAMISHED” (UKCRN ID. 8459). In addition, this work was reported in the US press which led to aspects of this work being used on Channel 4’s Embarrassing bodies programme and it has led to a patent application (Application no.
