Experimental study of critical and post-buckling behaviour of prestressed stayed columns
The research reports work into the strength and behaviour of prestressed steel stayed columns in compression carried out under a EPSRC grant ‘Nonlinear Mechanics and Design of Prestressed Stayed Struts’(Ref: EP/F022182/1; £413k; PI, Dr. MA Wadee). The work resulted in invited presentations at the University of Wiwatersrand (July, 2010, Johannesburg), the Structural Divn. of the South African Inst. Of Civil Engineers (August, 2010, Pretoria), the 4th International Conference on Structural Engineering (Sept. 2010, Cape Town), the 7th European Nonlinear Dynamics Conference (July 2011, Rome) and invited research seminars for Atkins (June 2012, Hong Kong), and Arup (July 2012, London).
