<20> This paper presents a system that unifies filmic emotional theories with narrative generation techniques to provide a rich experience that allows for viewer’s spontaneous emotional response to drive the evolution of a real-time 3D animated narrative. This is one of few examples of interactive storytelling that has been demonstrated live, with real-time generation of narratives up to 8 minutes long, and the only system that incorporates emotional response directly into the narrative planning in a naturalistic, unified manner, also in real-time. IUI 2012 had a paper acceptance rate of 23%. This work was funded by the FP7 NoE IRIS (FP7-ICT-231824).
