<20> This paper presents a case study on the development of interfaces for older and disabled users. The domain of the case study was situated in the home environment, focused on producing affordable technologies to enable users to interact with home appliances. It reports the development of ambient user interfaces which are integrated in televisions, mobile devices and digital picture frames. These interfaces adapt to users’ physical and cognitive needs. The paper presents a novel methodology named EDUCATID, which has since been used in industry in France.
