Plasma wakefield acceleration experiments at FACET

Seryi has been the leader of the FACET design efforts and then the project's head since around 2008. In this capacity he was personally involved in its design, in particular in design studies of its optics which provided focusing of the beam to a small size sufficient for ionization of plasma; and in design of special beamline chicanes which could potentially enable studies simultaneously with electrons and positrons; and was also responsible for overall coordination of the design of all subsystems (beamlines, electrical, mechanical, safety, control and other systems).
