Additional information

This short essay considers the work of British Live Art duo Low Profile. The invitation from the editor was to produce something of an 'introduction' to their work, as the duo were, at the time, relatively new to the national/international scene. The essay responds to this challenge by focusing in on what I consider to be one of their work's abiding preoccupations and compositional tactics; the idea of being 'prepared'. Following the publication of this piece, Falmouth's Performance Writing Research Group (which I co-convene) presented PW10, the first biennial Performance Writing Symposium at Bristol's Arnolfini Gallery. My interest in advancing and disseminating the work of Low Profile was reflected in my including them in the programme.
