Additional information

Spatially-correlated seismic intensity is major contributor to catastrophic earthquake risk. Spatial correlation models of peak ground motions can capture key statistical features of such motions. Paper is first of series of works by Goda into spatial correlation models of peak ground motions and reveals key statistical features of such motions. Significance of this body of work was recognised by Goda's Charles Richter Early Career Award from Seismological Society of America in 2012 [tinyurl/gen-eng-31] and Goda's Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship (Experienced Researcher) in 2013-5 to work with Prof. Wenzel [Karlsuhe Institute of technology, Germany]. Work is identified as research group highlight in REF5.
