Additional information

The methodology is based on a unique new concept which enables more realistic and accurate modelling of pipe leaks in water distribution systems. This enables making better decisions about how best to reduce the amount of water wasted (currently 25% of distribution input in the UK). The new methodology defined a new line of research resulting in a number of follow on publications by leading research groups in the field, e.g. in Italy (Prof. Todini) and the UK (Dr Tanyimboh). The methodology was implemented in the WDNetXL software available at www.hydroinformatics.it (contact: Prof. Giustolisi, ogiustolisi@poliba.it).
