Additional information

<17> ACM TOIS is the top journal in the field of information retrieval with an acceptance rate around 10%. The performance of video retrieval systems are very low compared to the textual retrieval mainly due to the issue of semantic gap. In this work, we demonstrated that implicit feedback, in the form of usage data, can be used effectively to improve the search quality. This paper is developed further on two earlier papers: Search trails using user feedback to improve video search, which has 22 citations; and the “Use of implicit graph for recommending relevant videos: a simulated evaluation”, which has 11 citations.
