The work was funded by the Home Office (£356k). The PDRA employed (first author) subsequently obtained the prestigious position of Optical Instrumentation Engineer at Genewave, Paris, and then she was promoted in 2011 to be the Laser Project Manager at Quantel Lasers, in Paris. This paper lead to an special invitation by the Home Office (contact Dr Hemant Desai, hemant,desai@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk) to deliver a key note paper at an EU Conference on Explosives Detection in March 2013 (Italy).
