Measurements of statistical characteristics of wave turbulence artificially generated in a controlled environment have been performed to assess the influence of the non-linear wave interaction in two dimensions. The work revealed significant influence of the finite size of the domain on wave spectrum. Results have been used for code validation and some general considerations have been applied in the one-dimensional optical wave turbulence which occurs in long fibres.
